The preliminary round of the Winter Olympics men’s ice hockey tournament comes to a close today as the United States faces off with Germany in the Group C finale.

Team USA is coming into today’s game off a 6-3 victory over Denmark to keep their record at an unbeaten 2-0, but the game got off to a rough start and remained close throughout. Huge goals from Jack Eichel and Brady Tkachuk kept the offense going, pulling the United States ahead of Denmark.

Germany’s second game of the tournament against Latvia ended with a shock; with a final score of 4-3, Latvia won its first Olympic men’s hockey game since 2014.
