Eurostat data showed on Friday that Cyprus had the highest gross domestic product growth in the European Union during the last quarter of 2025.
The Republic of Cyprus recorded an economic growth rate of 1.4% in volume terms from October-December compared with the July-September period.
Compared with the final quarter of 2024, Cyprus registered an increase of 4.5%, marking the highest annual performance among the EU member-states for which data are available.
In the euro area, seasonally adjusted GDP increased by 0.3% in the fourth quarter of 2025 on a quarterly basis, while a corresponding increase of 0.3% was also recorded in the EU. In the third quarter of 2025, GDP had increased by 0.3% in the euro area and by 0.4% in the EU.
According to Eurostat, on an annual basis, GDP increased by 1.3% in the euro area and by 1.5% in the EU in the fourth quarter of 2025, following increases of 1.4% and 1.6%, respectively, in the previous quarter.
For the whole of 2025, the annual growth estimate, based on seasonally and calendar-adjusted quarterly data, shows an increase of 1.5% in the euro area and 1.6% in the EU.
