Opposition Leader Angus Taylor has indicated he would adopt plans worked up by Sussan Ley to curb migration from places deemed high-risk, but will go further than his predecessor by cutting deeper into the annual migration intake.
Before she was deposed as Liberal leader on Friday, Ley had been preparing to release a new immigration policy this week, although the final plan had not yet been signed off by or even seen by the shadow cabinet, according to Coalition home affairs spokesman and key Taylor backer Jonathon Duniam.
