Israeli defense officials see the approaching month of Ramadan as a sensitive test. This will be the third year in a row that the Muslim holy month is marked against the backdrop of an ongoing war. But, unlike the previous two years, when Palestinians in the West Bank were relatively deterred from engaging in violence, the Israel Defense Forces today believes that the security situation is more fragile and complex.
