Yeah, saw it yesterday somewhere. Actually sad. Did they need it at the time. Maybe not, it was waffle iron politics. Could it have helped to revive the city after the loss of the steel industry, maybe it could. I mean, Limburg got several investment subsidies too after the coal industry stopped. Every city got something somewhere.
Would have been nice too if there was a metro to the airport from the train station. (not sure it it was planned in de 80s.
In 1990, RTBF had a segment called “Journal des travaux inutiles” where they visited some unfinished projects where (IIRC) public money was wasted.
