Croatia is ready to help Hungary and Slovakia with oil supplies following the suspension of transit through Ukraine, in compliance with EU law and the regulations of OFAC, which oversees US sanctions, Croatian Economy Minister Ante Susnjar wrote on X.

He pointed out that Croatia will not allow Central Europe’s fuel supply to be jeopardised and emphasised that the capacity of the Adria oil pipeline is available, has been sufficient in the past, and that there are currently no technical obstacles to transportation.

In his message to the European Commission, the minister stated that since the Adria pipeline is ready, there are no longer any technical reasons for European Union member states to insist on Russian crude oil.

The Croatian minister was responding to a statement made by Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, that Hungary and Slovakia had sent a letter to Croatia requesting that Russian crude oil be allowed to be transported via the Adria pipeline after Ukraine didn’t resume transit via the Druzhba pipeline.
