A 22-year-old man is now in jail after state police tell us he admitted that he stabbed somebody in Malta.
MALTA, N.Y. (WNYT) – New York State Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a stabbing at the Shops of Malta on Sunday night.

On February 15, State Police were clearing a traffic stop on State Route 67 when they say Shayne Vaccaro, 22, ran toward the patrol vehicle allegedly stating he had stabbed someone. Additional police units responded to a nearby restaurant and located a male employee, 34, that had been stabbed in the chest and arm. Police say Vaccaro waited outside the restaurant and attacked the victim as he left at the end of his shift.
A Saratoga County Sheriff’s Deputy applied a tourniquet before EMS took the victim to Albany Medical Center where his condition is listed as stable.

Vaccaro was taken into custody without incident. He is charged with attempted murder. He was arraigned and remanded to Saratoga County Jail.
