Sergei Ryabkov, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, has announced that a Russian delegation will travel to Geneva to participate in a third round of negotiations with the United States regarding the Ukraine crisis.

The state-run TASS news agency reported on Monday night, February 16, that Ryabkov said Moscow believes any potential agreement must be sustainable and address the root causes of the Ukraine conflict, while claiming that Europe’s “party of war” has complicated the course of U.S.-Russia negotiations.

The Russian deputy foreign minister added that despite existing difficulties, Moscow is seeking to normalize relations with Washington and continue dialogue to reach mutually acceptable solutions.

He also emphasized issues related to maritime security and Cuba’s position, stating that Russia is prepared to safeguard its interests and freedom of navigation.
