Andrey Kartapolov, chairman of the defence committee in Russia’s State Duma, claimed Ukraine will only “win” if it becomes part of the Russian Federation. Responding to remarks by Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Kartapolov argued European leaders already understand Kyiv’s position but continue projecting confidence to justify financial and military support to their domestic audiences.
