On Wednesday, February 18, from 05:00, due to severe weather conditions, traffic will be temporarily restricted for buses, minibuses, and all types of freight transport at border crossing points located on the Moldova border in the Odesa region.

According to Ukrinform, this is reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

“Due to severe weather conditions, in particular heavy snowfall at subzero temperatures, which poses increased danger to all road users, and in order to promptly address the consequences of the storm and prevent emergencies, taking into account the requirements of the laws of Ukraine ‘On Road Traffic’, ‘On Automobile Roads’, and the Procedure for temporary restriction or prohibition of movement of motor vehicles and other self-propelled machines and mechanisms on certain sections of public roads of general use, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on June 27, 2007, No. 879, the Service for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure in the Odesa region is introducing a temporary restriction on the passage of freight vehicles and vehicles for passenger transport (buses, minibuses) on the state-owned public road M-15 Odesa – Reni (to Bucharest), from km 11+920 to km 308+000, starting at 05:00 on February 18, 2026.”

Restrictions apply on routes crossing the Moldova border

As a result, movement to and from the border crossing points Palanka-Mayaky-Udobne, Starokozache, Serpneve, Maloyaroslavets, Lisne, Reni, Dolynske, Orlivka, Vynohradivka, Tabaki, Novi Troyany for the specified category of vehicles will be suspended.

This was conveyed to Moldovan colleagues, the DPSU noted.

As Ukrinform reported, due to the reconstruction of the bridge over the Tisza River, a temporary restriction on vehicle movement through the Solotvyno – Sighetu Marmației border crossing will be introduced from February 16.
