I’ve been meaning to ask this question here for a long time here to check if this sub is more liberal or conservative in the subject of LGBT. Pride Month seems to be a good excuse. 😉 The poll is anonymous, so I hope the answers will be honest.

There’s an opinion that Polish people are not tolerant of LGBT people, or they’re tolerant as long as they are not visible or don’t demand more rights. So, let’s check it by asking the specific question.

Poland is one of not many countries in Europe that don’t have civil partnerships for same-sex couples. **The question is – do you approve of them?** I’m not talking about same-sex marriages. The scope of this little research is of course limited to the community of this subreddit, but maybe it’ll be helpful for some foreigners here.

What I am talking about: [Recognition of same-sex unions in Europe](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recognition_of_same-sex_unions_in_Europe)

*Please, be civil in the comments, regardless of your opinion.* I realize it’s still a controversial topic in Poland, I’m just curious to see how it looks like in here.

  1. Literally do not care about alphabet people struggle, therefore yes I approve. In fact, I’d go further, to either remove state sanctioned marriage altogether, or expand it for example to include more than 2 people. In my book this is just a civil status giving some benefit, like joint income tax calculation or having access to one anothers medical information.

  2. It’s controversial in Poland (for unknown reasons for me), although people here are mostly liberal if not fanatical leftists. You won’t get representational score here.

Edit: by “here” I meant Reddit.

  3. I think that probably around 30% of voters (I mean voting for president etc.) would probably say no, but it’s mostly old folks and country people

  4. Most people don’t have a problem with that (civil unions of same-sex). But, our intuition tells us that the next step would be child adoption. That’s why most of us are hesitant. It’s because we’re more conservative as a nation and we don’t adopt new ideas right away, we’d rather have them circulated and being discussed before we change things.

I consider myself as a center-minded, but more conservative than liberal (as you can’t be 100% center) and I don’t have a strong opinion on that matter. I would make life easier for same-sex couples but on the other hand I would like to have more data analysis before we allow for child adoption.

  5. I’m missing one more option ” I don’t give a f**ck, who sleeps with who”

  6. dude don’t ask on reddit most people support lgbt here
