NORTHERN MICHIGAN,. (WPBN/WGTU) – – A dog rescued from a Michigan puppy mill in 2022 has gone on journey across the country and most recently, to Italy.
Goose was surrendered to Michigan Doodle Rescue Connect in 2022.
He had been used as a stud dog in a puppy mill, and Nana Doodle of Michigan Doodle Rescue Connect said the neighbor’s kids were not very good to him.
After he was evaluated and examined, Goose’s match turned out to be in California with a family living on a boat.
The rescue said it was a challenge to see if Goose was fit for life on the water, but they said it was exactly where he was meant to be.
The family flew into Michigan to get Goose, then took him on a road trip across the United States, meeting friends and family along the way.
On February 18, Goose made his debut in Italy at the 2026 Livigno Olympics, where he also had a chance to meet Nick Baumgartner, a snowboarder from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
