Have never seen this before and I’d be tracking planes quite a lot

  1. Hey OP I’ve picked it up in the past, I was using JAero though on the PC with a SDR and tuned high up around the inmarsat frequencies.

I’ve also got a very small dish installed in the attic for this and it’s pointing at the inmarsat sat around 25.3 East i think, or something like that, strong enough though to work through the roofing tiles too, it’s the dish you can buy from the rtlsdr website directly.

I’ll see if I can get a link for it (I’m on mobile right now) and come back and update this post with an edit.

    Edit: Here you go…

    It’s brilliant, highly recommended.
I have the rtlsdr they sell there too and it’s very good but I use a Sdrplay rspdx these days mostly. Order from amazon US, it’ll take 4 days to get to you, otherwise expect a month for delivery from China.

You can search around for JAero software, updated recently enough too and free.

I also use the paid version of tekmanoid to get comms from Russian mil on Inmarsat though they’ve started using pgp a lot since last month to encrypt messages.
