Russia opens a consulate in the illegally occupied northern part of Cyprus

  1. Simply a political move by Putin to anger the EU community. Doesn’t really mean anything to the illegal pseudostate. He didn’t outright recognize them, he cant, because then hed put himself in a tight spot when it comes to recognizing foreign occupied territories ( Crimea)

  2. They did not open anything as far as i know, but are “thinking of opening” a consulate. What this means i am not sure of, but i don’t think they are likely to follow upon their bluff but then again it is Russia we are talking about, it is hard to predict their next move.

  3. Seems like there is a ” USA Ambassadorship Office ” and a “British High Commission Office” there also.

  4. The Russian Ambassador said that the rumors about opening a consulate in occupied Cyprus are false, and they have no intention of doing so. He also pointed out that certain Western countries have such offices in the north.
