Orders have been put in place to release any files on UFOs and aliens that represent “extraterrestrial life”
President Donald Trump released a statement on social media on Thursday night stating that he is directing the Pentagon and government agencies to release files on extraterrestrials and unidentified flying objects- UFOs.
Trump told Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, along with other agencies, “to begin the process of identifying and releasing” files that are relevant to the matter.
Within his public statement, Trump accused former President Barack Obama of disclosing classified information during a podcast interview. In the interview, the president claims Obama stated that aliens are in fact, real.
However, Obama went on to state that he has not seen any files with evidence that aliens exist. He continued that he has not seen any evidence that aliens “have made contact with us.” Though he went on to say that, “statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there.”
It is not yet clear what files may be released or what they may contain in correspondence to the UFO allegations. The Pentagon has been able to track unidentified aerial phenomena, or UAPs, for the past few decades. However, the military stated that as of 2024, there has not been any report of evidence confirming the existence of extraterrestrial life.
Within recent years, public interest in UPAs has spiked. Pilots and Military members have reported spotting objects in the sky, which leads lawmakers to press for further investigation. From the investigation, they would be able to prove whether this poses a threat to our safety as a country.
Last year, a House Republican released a whistleblower video of a U.S. missile striking an unidentified object. The missile reportedly bounced off the object that looked like an orb.
A large number of reports have been made about potential UPAs. However, a majority of reports have been ruled out as birds, balloons, drones, satellites and other everyday phenomena. These reports have been made to the military’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office. It is important to note that the AARO has discovered no evidence of any extraterrestrial activity. Many of these cases remain unsolved.
