OKLAHOMA CITY (KSWO) – A bill focusing on artificial intelligence and child safety is under discussion in committee.
House Bill 3544 aims to protect kids from the negative effects of AI systems like Chatbots.
If passed, it would prohibit the deployment of “Social AI Companions” to minors, and the use of AI chatbots would require age verification.
An exception would be allowed for therapeutic AI tools, as long as they have professional oversight.
The bill is set to be discussed by the Judiciary and Public Safety Oversight Committee.
