  2. I am going to make a prediction:

    This summer there will be complete chaos at the airport. Because of a shortage in either/both bagageafhandelaars and security.

    They get a laughable wage ( with this economy they can easily find a job elsewhere for more ) and the companies have negotiated such a tight contracts with the airport there is almost no room for raises.

    They have the most shitty hours. A lot of shifts start in the middle of the night so they even can’t get there with public transport. So they have to use a car and lose a fortune in gasoline. Some have 7x shifts of 3 hours to get a half time job. If you have to commute there every day by car you don’t have much money left.

    When Corona hit the passenger bagageafhandelaars were sacked immediately, even when there was more work in cargo. They used Corona as an excuse to even make the conditions for the cargo bagageafhandelaars even worse by not hiring a lot of extra people. A lot of people never returned because there is no job security.

    So if this summer there is a big problem, it is all on those shitty companies and the airport. But I am sure people will be ready to point fingers at the workers like they always do.

  3. Een combinatie van beter werkvoorwaarden en een degelijke activering van werklozen. Onze werkloosheidscijfers zijn nog steeds vele malen slechter dan de buurlanden en onze overheidsschuld loopt nog steeds drastisch op. We behoren al lang bij de club med landen die ver boven hun stand leven. Tijd voor een degelijke aanpak… Anders loopt dit ooit zeer fout af. Mensen willen gewoon niet meer werken. Het moeten allemaal perfecte uren zijn en liefst niet te hard werken.
