Greek DM Panagiotopoulos: Turkey realizes heavy cost to military engagement with Greece

  1. Greece is in the EU, the EU has an article on defense. I don’t think Turkey is that stupid. A bunch of small Islands aren’t worth that.

But if he pulls a Putin, oh boy, things are going to get interesting.

  2. The only way an actual war breaks out between Greece and Turkey is if Turkey starts it with an aggressive move. Greece does not want war but if it does come to that the losses on both sides will be significant. Those in Turkey that are calling for war with Greece (of which there are many) are childish fools devoid of any concept of reality.

  3. I think the odds of Turkey as an attacker are much worse than what Russia was perceived to have against Ukraine before the war. Hopefully it will never come to that though because of Turkey loses the conflict the first thing term on the table, along with booting from NATO, would be loss of control of Bosporus. So please behave and let us both have a calm summer.
