Washington, Feb. 24 (SANA) U.S. President Donald Trump is set to deliver his State of the Union address on Tuesday evening at the U.S. Capitol, outlining his administration’s priorities ahead of November’s midterm elections, the BBC reported.

The speech, scheduled for 21:00 EST (02:00 GMT), will be delivered before a joint session of Congress in the House of Representatives chamber. Lawmakers from both parties, U.S. Supreme Court justices and senior military leaders are expected to attend. Vice President JD Vance and House Speaker Mike Johnson will sit behind the president during the address.

According to the repoert, Trump is likely to highlight what he considers key achievements of his first year in office and set out his policy agenda for the coming months. Issues expected to feature prominently include immigration enforcement, trade policy and foreign affairs.

At his previous address to Congress in March 2025, Trump spoke about the war in Ukraine, tax policy and his broader economic plans. Analysts cited by the BBC say this year’s speech could also address recent Supreme Court rulings affecting his trade measures, as well as diplomatic efforts overseas.

The address comes at a politically sensitive moment, with several Democratic lawmakers indicating they plan to boycott the event. The opposition party will deliver a formal rebuttal following the speech, a tradition that dates back to 1966.
