Lower Manhattan is going cold turkey.

One of the Financial District’s most famous residents was spotted walking around during the blizzard, hopefully not freezing its gizzard off.

Astoria the turkey could be seen exploring the snow as more continued to come down during the storm on Monday. The bird didn’t seem too bothered by the snow, even as it appeared to sink into the snow with every step it took.

The bird has been spotted around Battery Park in lower Manhattan since 2025, according to the New York Times. Astoria earned the name after first being seen in the Queens neighborhood, before heading to Roosevelt Island and then Manhattan, the Times reported last week.

Believed to be the only wild turkey in Manhattan, Astoria is tended to by three women who have a rotating schedule of visits throughout the day, according to the paper, before the bird finds a tree to sleep in for the night.
