US Donors Are Helping Push Anti-Abortion Agendas in British Schools

  1. This is a growing danger – Well-funded political organisations in the US trying to impose their home-grown fights on us and other countries. They don’t respect us enough to keep to themselves. Next thing you know we’ll have groups with links to the US demanding gun-laws be relaxed. They’ll buy time on GB news or whoever and get the pundits to rant “Isn’t it my right as an Englishman to own as many guns as I want???? Just asking questions here!!!!”

  2. Sorry, why are anti-abortion groups giving talks in British schools? Do we let the anti-vaxxers have a go too?

If I had children, and they came home from school saying they’d had a talk about how healthcare is bad for you I’d hit the fucking roof.

  3. Someone should tell them we already had an abortion law case and decided it’s more about public safety than it is anyone’s rights to anything.

Royal College of Nursing v DHSS for anyone interested. It’s usually used in law schools and the like as an example of interpreting the law with its purpose in mind rather than purely the literal words.

  4. It’s not enough that they’re screwing up their own country, but now they’re trying to screw ours up as well? & brainwash our children?

This would be where a decent government would step in and take action to block it; unfortunately, it’s by design.

  5. Back in the distant pre-internet past, one of our (catholic school) teachers invited a woman from SPUC to talk to us sixth-formers, who proceeded to show us graphic slides and hand round little plastic foetuses with fully formed human faces.

Even in the day of limited information, this went down like a cup of cold sick.

So despite American christian fundamentalists doing their usual cultural imperialism schtick, I think today’s kids will be ok.
