  1. Which of these represents the best value, I wonder? Brussels is a good spot to live, taxes are a bit high though. Lisbon is nice, but I guess your salary would be half what it is in Ireland.

  2. You can bet the standard of housing in the next most expensive cities is high quality and rent controlled. So you might be earning a bit less but at least you won’t be living with a mould patch above your head and sharing the room with a complete stranger.

  3. Would love to see the amount of apartments per capita in that map. Dublin’s issue is the fact we’ve feck all supply.

    And we also have by far the smallest number of apartments (normalised) of any country in the EU.

    So if something is really scarce it’s really expensive, WHO EVER COULD HAVE PREDICTED SUCH A THING???? Such sorcery. There’s no explanation. People definitely didn’t figure this out centuries so what could it be? It’s definitely not a massive issue that the most popular party in the State and a large chunk of the population lose their fucking minds at the mention of the word ‘apartment’.
