About 3/4 of the Dàil are landlords, that might have something to do with it.
Which of these represents the best value, I wonder? Brussels is a good spot to live, taxes are a bit high though. Lisbon is nice, but I guess your salary would be half what it is in Ireland.
You can bet the standard of housing in the next most expensive cities is high quality and rent controlled. So you might be earning a bit less but at least you won’t be living with a mould patch above your head and sharing the room with a complete stranger.
Why is Varese, a 80K inhabitants town, in that list and not Milan, 1.4M?
Would love to see the amount of apartments per capita in that map. Dublin’s issue is the fact we’ve feck all supply.
Up there with Geneva and Washington. Nice.
And for what
What’s up with the url in the title ‘civil servants remuneration’

And we also have by far the smallest number of apartments (normalised) of any country in the EU.
So if something is really scarce it’s really expensive, WHO EVER COULD HAVE PREDICTED SUCH A THING???? Such sorcery. There’s no explanation. People definitely didn’t figure this out centuries so what could it be? It’s definitely not a massive issue that the most popular party in the State and a large chunk of the population lose their fucking minds at the mention of the word ‘apartment’.
FFG: “It’s remarkable how much of a beating the Irish can take without lashing out in return.”
Shocking.
So, are people still arguing that the rental crisis is as worse anywhere else as in here?
