It’s what the people want or just that people nowadays are too lazy to get paid well enough to feed themselves.
The Independent foodAid network, (foodaidnetwork.org.uk) has reported 93% of their organisations reported an increase in demand, with 78% reporting a drop in financial and or food donations.
I work for a charity in the Midlands, that runs a foodbank, school uniform project and a baby/toddler supplies.
So far this year, we’ve provided approx 60,000 meals, 62 baby and toddler packs.
Donations are down, referrals are rising and we’re not expecting it to get quieter.
You know its bad when you see its less than doubled and your first thought is “I’m surprised its that low”
It’ll be far higher over winter. Hoenstly I still feel that to your average person it hasn’t sunk in just how bad this winter will be yet.
On the upside because of inflation the veggies are bigger than ever!
What’s sad is that food bank usage has been normalised for so long to begin with. The rise started with the 2008 financial crisis and the austerity that followed, yet it only got worse from there. If the government were truly helping people from 2010 then we would have seen that rise drop off years ago. With donations also dropping, there is no way food banks will be able to keep up with demand and then what? When food banks have to turn people away we will truly have reached rock bottom as a society.
Tory voters must be proud.

The UK now has a record number of billionaires with 177, according to the new Sunday Times Rich List.
That’s up six from 2021 – and the combined wealth of the UK’s billionaires
stands at £653bn, up more than £55bn (9.4%) on the total wealth of the
billionaires in last year’s Rich List.
Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty made the list for the first time, as their joint £730m fortune put them at number 222.

I stopped donating to foodbanks because a lot of the people are not genuine.
When I was a Parish Councillor, I was once reported to the electoral commission because I advertised the contact details for the local food bank on Facebook.
It upset a Tory pensioner who felt the poors shouldn’t be getting handouts, and said I was abusing my authority as a Councillor by promoting free food.
Luckily, the investigator made the complaint go away no questions asked.
This is the state of Boomers living in Britain, Redditors.
“This government has provided an **81%** increase in trade for this company, could the opposition say the same for their policies?”

I hope Jacob Rees-Mogg [feels proud of this](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-41264965). The smug twat.
