I honestly think Boris would survive a leadership challenge. The Conservative Party isn’t exactly full of decent & honourable MPs, too many of them blindly support him no matter what he does.

Johnson hasn’t lurched to the right. He’s always been the same. He was an amoral demagogue when the fascist Tories thought he was the best person their party had to be prime minister and he’s an amoral demagogue now. There’s been no lurching, except under the influence.

I hate hate boris but part of me feels that he is now beyond the pale for enough voters that were an election due, he would suffer badly- hard to shake the character he has traded on so long
A new more ‘centrist’ tory might pull back some of the lost tory voters unhappy about voting left but too queasy about Bojo to keep backing tories
That said- who the hell could do it
