The Finnish government has allocated €1.5m for state grants towards gambling harm prevention, education and treatment under the new multi-licensing regulations.

Under the new system, the costs of gambling harms support work will be funded by the government instead of by current monopoly operator Veikkaus.
On Thursday, February 27, the government approved a decree outlining the plans in detail.
The government said the funding in the state budget will ensure the “continuity of electronic and anonymous support and advice services,” including a national helpline.
State grants will then be allocated to expanding regional gambling harm support services as well as scientific research.
The decree comes into effect on Sunday, March 1, the same day that the application period for B2C operators opens.
