Implementing the advance information, the operatives of the Chernivtsi border detachment detained the “dealers” who organized a channel for illegal smuggling of people across the Ukrainian-Moldovan border.
Tracking the movements of the offenders, the border guards stopped a jeep and a minibus near the state border, in which three men were moving towards the line of border engineering barriers. During the inspection of the SUV, law enforcement officers discovered a folding ladder, with the help of which they planned to overcome the barrier fence.
In the course of further work, law enforcement officers found out that in this way two residents of the Chernivtsi region tried to illegally transport a 29-year-old Kharkiv resident to Moldova. The man had to pay 15 thousand US dollars for the illegal “transfer”.
Administrative materials have been drawn up against the border violator. The main organizer of the illegal scheme and his accomplice were notified of suspicion under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 1.5 and 1.2 million hryvnias, respectively.
