The presentation of the catalog “La luce d’Italia: da Fattori a Morandi” (The Light of Italy: from Fattori to Morandi), dedicated to the exhibition of the same name, organized by the Italian Embassy in Riga in collaboration with the Uffizi Galleries in Florence and the Bologna-based art association Nuova Artemarea, took place at the Latvian National Museum of Art. The exhibition will be hosted in the museum’s halls from July 5 to November 30, 2025.

The catalog, illustrated in Latvian, Italian, and English, was created as documentation of the exhibition and brings together a series of essays by renowned art scholars and international relations experts such as Guicciardo Sassoli de’ Bianchi Strozzi, Astrida Rogule, Elena Marconi, Vanessa Gavioli, and Aija Braslina.
“This publication is more than an exhibition catalog: it is an analytical work, enriched by essays by leading scholars and conceived as a lasting reference point for the study of the period, as well as for the analysis of the historical and aesthetic relations between Italy and Latvia,” said the editor of the volume, Guicciardo Sassoli de’ Bianchi Strozzi.

Significant financial support for the publication of the catalog was provided by the Italian Embassy in Riga.
