Their IPA is like dyke water as we say in Norfolk, even 6p a pint is too much.
Is that the watery 3% abv stuff?
There are going to be so many fights.
I feel sorry for anyone working in hospitality this weekend, it’s going to be hell.
What specifically says they can’t sell a pint for 6p but can sell one for 0p?
For anyone who’s not read the article – the free pint is today only and you have to say the secret word “1952”.
No idea how they are tracking who’s already had the free pint.
It would be great if everyone could show some love and respect to bar workers in particular this weekend. They deserve serious praise for what they do!
Right off to the pub.
Where does the number 6 come from here?
Because most of the price of your pint is tax. Tax avoidance is illegal and treasonous. How will the Queen maintain her wealth if the plebs don’t pay the tax on beer?
Greene King, I hope, one day, goes bust. (Yes, people will lose their jobs).
They are a thoroughly reprehensible organisation who use exploitative tactics to maintain a stranglehold on a huge share of the market and cause misery to landlords who are tied in.
They have no qualms about selling off their physical estate when a pub starts to struggle, which then deprives the community of a hub, which is then turned into expensive flats. They also are happy to mistreat their staff to breaking point, and expect their staff to “go the extra mile” which normally involves working unpaid hours, buying stuff out of their own pocket etc.
GK are like the SportsDirect of the brewing trade. All about profit, very much “Theory X” management, all about minimizing cost and cutting off their nose to spite their own face.
Their new “craft” range is also dogswill. Craft beer in the UK has been around for decades but it’s taken them until 2021 to realise that people like flavoursome, independent beer. It’s something I call “Craftwashing”. Big breweries that want to make a new product and try and trick craft beer drinkers into buying it, where if they look carefully on the label, it says brewed and canned/bottled by GK, Molson Coors, AbInbev or Heineken, Shepherd Neame etc. If you like craft beer, and you spot one of these new brand imposters, take a quick look on the back of the label if you are suspicious, you might find out that if you buy it, your ££ are going to line the pockets of some anonymous corporate management rather than a hard working, supportive independent brewery.

But will those pints have little crowns on them?
