Supermarket customers have been rushing to claim an extra offer on their food at Iceland with the return of a £4 deal. The twist is that shoppers will not know what comes inside the ‘mystery bag’ until it arrives.

The Iceland Lucky Dip bags, featuring a surprise selection of six frozen products, caused a social media stir last week, with customers sharing their hauls of bonus food online. These bags can be added to any online order when customers spend £25 or more, with the mystery items then included in qualifying baskets.

What is inside these bags is unpredictable, with some Iceland shoppers securing premium items at knockdown prices, including turkey crowns, half lamb legs, luxury products and an assortment of branded frozen staples, reports the Mirror.

Laura Khoshaba (@Laurakhoshaba) shared her video on TikTok and said: “Wow. This is a lot of food for £4. That’s such a good deal! I think this is such a fantastic deal.”

In her £4 bundle, Laura got £12.70 worth of items, including:

Ninja Airfy Chicken Nuggets & Dippers (worth £2)McCain Skin On Fries (worth £3.70)Iceland 9 Mini Quiche Lorraine (worth £1)Iceland Crunchy Coated Max BBQ Ribs Chicken Strips (worth £4)Iceland Ghost and Pumpkin Potato Shapes (worth £1)Iceland Garden Peas and Sweetcorn Mix (worth £1)

Another TikTok user described their haul as the “bargain of the year”. They added that, for £4, they believe the bag contained around “£24 worth of food”.

These Lucky Dip bags, limited to two per customer, were previously offered online but vanished from virtual shelves rapidly. The relaunch will have enthusiasts eager to discover what deals they can secure, though shoppers have been cautioned that stocks of these mystery packages will be restricted.

An Iceland spokesperson confirmed: “The lucky dip bags will be available online only from Friday, February 27. The deal will run from Friday until Sunday (March 1) or until they sell out – and when they’re gone, they’re gone.”

Customers should visit the website and take advantage of Iceland’s same-day delivery options on its online platform. For complete terms and conditions, visit the Iceland website here.

Meanwhile, in other supermarket news, Sainsbury’s has rolled out new security features at selected branches nationwide. However, customers have pointed out what they claim is a ‘major problem’ with the system.

Anti-theft barriers have been installed in front of specific products on shelving units at various locations across the country to deter shoplifting. These plastic mechanisms, also known as “pushers” or “dividers”, were introduced to avoid “shelf sweeping” – a tactic in which thieves swipe an entire row of stock into a bag or trolley in one move.

One customer highlighted an issue with the devices on X, posting: “Hey Sainsbury’s, you’ve not only made the chocolate unstealable, but it’s also unsellable. Can’t even get it out without ripping the product to pieces. The whole shelf has these plastic sliders, so there are no gaps to slide them out of the way.”
