Police in New Berlin say they arrested a 17-year-old who led officers on a chase in a stolen car. The department said officers first responded to Coachlight Drive around 4 a.m. Saturday for a report of car break-ins. During a search for suspects, an officer tried to stop a car. The car sped away from the attempted traffic stop. It eventually stopped near Greenfield Avenue and Vista View Drive after driving over stop sticks. Officers arrested a 17-year-old from Milwaukee and said the car he was driving was reported stolen out of Milwaukee.New Berlin police said there was a second police chase after they tried to pull over a different car during the search for suspects. The car led officers on a chase on I-94 for several miles. Officers terminated the pursuit and did not arrest anyone else. Police said at least one of the involved cars was stolen from the original break-in report. Several other cars were broken into. Police said nobody was injured. The 17-year-old is in the Waukesha County Jail, held on charges of driving a car without owner’s consent and fleeing and eluding. Police said he was wanted on a warrant out of Milwaukee County for a previous offense.
