Just book your flight outside of peak hours. Not that difficult.
Waiting times are more than 30 mins but less than 1 day.
If you want a adventre, you must always go where others aren’t.
Backed up all the way to the sugar loaf, more staff needed.
Not a short-term solution but one thing the Government could do is force Ryanair to move flights to regional airports. Ryanair has been pulling out of regional airports and now most flights go from Dublin. But it’s unlikely to happen as FG are ideologically against telling the private sector what to do – it’s usually the other way around.
Lots of snow in Wicklow this year.
I had to inform one of my coworkers from Ghana that there’s huge queues expected for flights and missing your flight is a risk. It’s bad enough for the ppl who know about it and can prepare. Imagine not hearing about it and turning up to it!
They certainly need to check their privilege.
The queues at Dublin airport were on the news in Australia tonight. So I’m guessing you lads aren’t exaggerating.
I was oblivious to this situation living mostly abroad. Must have got super lucky flying home a few weeks ago, on departure from Dublin I just did my usual, hand luggage only and rock up to the airport an hour before the flight. 20m queue for security and straight to the gate. Think it was a Tuesday afternoon. So if you can, go mid-week if possible and afternoons rather than morning I guess
See, I have holiday booked and I’m flying from Dublin on the 28th of june, usually, I don’t get worried at all about flights, this time however, I’m worried a month in advance, fun times.
😂
So what’s the story? Wtf happened since i flew out March 2020.
(Don’t say the pandemic)
Yes I’m living in a vacuum (new zealand).
I think that’s thetop of Mount Everest not Dublin airport
Genuine question – how long before your flight should ye go to the airport then? I’m flying on Wednesday and am starting to think I should just pitch a tent now
Lol
That’s grand. Who’re the Sherpas though
I was not expecting the queue I was in yesterday, good job I’d got an early coach but no time for a pint after security.
This photo perfectly sums up Humanity in the 21st Century. Amazingly adaptable and clever yet also incredibly stupid.
Flying out this Sunday with four kids. Thinking of leaving them behind, at least I am gonna make my flight then
Man that’s why I don’t see any kids in the queue. Finally some advantage of having kids .
I got stuck in Dublin after a week long vacation here. They cancelled the flight, which sucked. What really was surprising though was all the airport staff saying how shocked they were to have such high volume. Like how could so many people be flying on a Sunday or wtv.
Don’t most air travelers book tickets at least a few weeks in advance? Do airlines not make staffing decisions based on demand? Are airports not communicating at all with airlines? So many questions.
I imagine it is a staffing problem, which is a problem everywhere, and not as much the shock of demand. Still, it was a weird refrain.
Lmaoooooo
A little better than yesterday, then.
Only at ***peak*** times.
I’ll see myself out, methanks you all. 🤪
Use a different airport if at all possible. We have a few
1)Looks like a queue at a grocery store….
2) does each one get a ‘stamp’ on their preferred hand? who stamps their hand at the top
3) Do they get pushed off and roll down ‘the other side’.
4) ME TOOOOOOO!
….. there MUST be more inane comments responding to this insane image…
