As a Pole, I think the time for talking is over as it’s patently obvious that PiS is not going to stop fucking our country anytime soon.
TLDR:
– EU’s rule-of-law mechanism was implemented last year
– Hungary and Poland challenged the legality of this mechanism
– Court of Justice of the European Union hasn’t ruled on the legality yet
– Merkel says to not use the mechanism before the court has ruled
To be honest.. I kind of agree. If the mechanism is used and then the court say that it is not legal.. that’s a lot of political chaos.

Little birdie tells, that there are EU talks with Morawiecki already in motion, where in exchange for some assurance that EU law is above Polish, recovery fund will be delivered.
After a career of kicking the can down the road until it finally explodes, she is trying to get one last can kick before she goes.
