I appreciate the post but it would have been nice with European stats on it about men.
most of those statistics are good to share, but to compare prostate cancer to breast cancer feels wrong and i don’t understand why myself.
“1/3 of domestic abuse victims are men”
Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t that mean 2/3 are women? Just feels like a bad point to bring up.
The prostate cancer deaths stat is a little misleading. [At 3568 prostate cancer deaths versus 3144 breast cancer deaths, yes, the numbers are technically higher](https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/health/causes-death/causes-death-australia/2020). And I wouldn’t be surprised if Australia spends more money on breast cancer research than prostate cancer research. The issue is that the average age at prostate cancer death is 82.5 years, while the average age at breast cancer death is 72.0. These funding decisions aren’t a result of anti-male bias; it’s just that funding prostate cancer research won’t extend lives as much as funding breast cancer research.
For the separation statistics, in the US the issue is that most men don’t try to get custody. In [91% of separations, the parties themselves decide who gets custody.](https://www.huffpost.com/entry/dispelling-the-myth-of-ge_b_1617115) In cases that go to the courts, there may be bias, but it’s much lower than the 85% cited; [60% of these cases result in the father getting custody](https://www.weinmanfamilylaw.com/blog/2020/06/are-the-courts-gender-biased-in-custody-cases/). I can’t find equivalent data for Australia, though. Short version: if you’re a man going through a separation, and you want custody of your kids, don’t let these statistics intimidate you from trying to get custody.
About prostate cancer:
> One study followed 32,000 men for 18 years. It found men who ejaculated the most (at least 21 times a month) had a 20% lower chance of prostate cancer vs. those who ejaculated 4 to 7 times a month. The more the number increased per month, the lower their risk.
Time to sort by controversial a have some fun!
gender equality is not a competition its a shared struggle. Fuck anyone who says that men cant be victims of sexism but equally fuck anyone who would use these statistics to argue men have it worse. (also ngl some of these are kinda misleading)
Happy International Men’s Day, kings!
We should have a quota on workplace fatalities.
Australian men who have suicidal thoughts or attempt to kill themselves call an ambulance? Wow. I’m amazed. Seems like there are some civilized countries where it’s okay to be vulnerable. Because in Poland, for example, most men don’t tell anyone that they have depression or think about ending it all because you can’t be a weak pussy (fucking macho culture). So they just do it and they’re gone. Most men here in Poland don’t cry for help like women because it apparently makes them less of men and they lose their dignity.
> prostate cancer kills more men than breast cancer kills women
???????????????? Are we seeking some fucked up kind of “””””equality”””””” between these causes of deaths? ***Why*** even mention women?
If only we would reach parity, guys. Then bam, problem solved.
It’s always a pissing match against women, with international Mens day.
Can’t we actually just be men, on this.. Our day?
Just give me a blow job, and ask me about my DIY plans.
I like the contrast between “happy” and the informations on the right side. Like:
“Happy birthday grandma! Did you know that statisticaly you have only 5% chance of surviving another year? “
