A moderate earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale struck near the town of Drniš in southern Croatia early Wednesday morning, according to the Croatian Seismological Service.

The tremor was recorded at 1:23 a.m., with its epicenter located near the village of Siverić, not far from Drniš. No immediate reports of damage or injuries were released.

Earlier in the night, at 12:50 a.m., seismologists detected a weaker quake measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale. That tremor originated near Murvica, approximately 25 kilometers northwest of Benkovac.

While earthquakes of this magnitude are not uncommon in the seismically active Dalmatian region, residents in the surrounding areas reported feeling the shaking during the early hours.
