MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) – Two people from Poland were arrested in western Kentucky in connection with a multi-state theft ring.
Majkel Malinowski, 37, and Margarita Kaminska, 36, were arrested on Tuesday, March 3 by McCracken County sheriff’s deputies and Homeland Security Investigations.
They are being held in the McCracken County Jail on charges of receiving stolen property over $1,000, possession of burglary tools and engaging in organized crime.
They both also face charges for theft in Graves County, Ky.
According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began when Homeland Security alerted them that the pair had just committed a theft from a home improvement store in Mayfield.
Investigators found the suspect’s vehicle on Interstate 24, just before the Ohio River Bridge, and pulled it over.
During the traffic stop, they identified the pair as Malinowski and Kaminska, both residents of Poland and in the United States illegally.
According to the sheriff’s office, during the investigation detectives found packaging and tape from a shipping company.
They served a search warrant at the shipping company and seized a package the pair had shipped immediately before being stopped.
Deputies say the package contained the stolen items, valued at more than $3,000, from the home improvement store.
Homeland Security also contacted the Chicago Police Department and determined the items were to be sent to a location in Chicago to two other people.
According to the sheriff’s office, this location had received multiple packages in 2026 from different parts of the country, believed to be stolen items.
Kaminska and Malinowski are accused of stealing from stores in Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio and sending the items to Chicago.
