The Embassy of Ukraine in Poland on March 5 commented on information about the probable expulsion of Ukrainian citizens from the country. The agency noted that media reports appeared about an operation in Poland on March 2 and 3, during which around 2,000 Polish citizens and foreigners were checked.
As a result of the operation, proceedings have been opened against 91 Ukrainian citizens for an obligation to return.

The day before, Polish police reported an operation to identify people who are being sought or who were staying illegally in Poland. In total, 1,944 people were detained, including 147 foreigners, among them 91 Ukrainian citizens.
As of the beginning of January this year, according to UNHCR data, nearly 980,000 Ukrainians in Poland hold temporary protection status.
