Ambassador Ossoble Ali, who Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union, formally presented her Letters of Credence to Nicușor Dan, President of Romania, during an official ceremony in Bucharest. The meeting highlighted Somalia’s long-standing diplomatic ties with Romania, which date back to 1965.
During discussions, the ambassador and President Dan explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in diplomacy, economic development, education, and broader international collaboration.
The Somali Embassy said the appointment marks a new chapter in Somalia-Romania relations, aimed at strengthening partnerships, fostering mutual understanding, and creating opportunities for joint initiatives in Europe and beyond.
