I have translated names of all big Russian cities directly into Hungarian (as close as possible) and made a map out of it!

  9. Funny because many hungarian towns have similar descriptive names. I know these are big cities but if you’d say that for example Hercegháza, Kispatkó, Alsóújváros, Törökhely, Lászlókeleti are actual hungarian villages or small towns, I’d believe you.

  12. No google maps challenge, intentionally skipping the obvious ones, or most of them at least. Don’t have time for all of it but my guesses:

    Alsóújváros – Нижный Новгород

    Katalinváros – Екатеринбург

    Omhely – Омск

    Újszibériavár – Новосибирск

    Pirosháza – Краснодар

    Gyanta – pff, Смоленск? I guess if you want to be consistent you should call it either Gyantavár or Gyantahely or whatever

    Pirosváros – Красноярск

    Szibériaszurdok – Усолье-Сибирское? Not sure what the first piece stands for but I recall this city.

    Mágneshely – Магнитогорск

    Fiúháza – is that supposed to be..Братск?

    Fehérvár – Белгород

    Omhely – Омск

    Pirosuda – Улан-Удэ. Hilarious

    Nykérszőn – this is gibberish basically in Hungarian. I guess Чита but I don’t know Buryat language.

    Hangar – Ангарск I suppose.

    Orvár – Оренбург

    Fül – Ухо? Is that really a settlement?

    Tamásvár – cannot be correct if it is Томск. Tomhely I guess.

    Szemhely – Глазов is a major stop on the Trans-Sib as far as my trips went, this is my immediate guess.

    Fekfoldelszik – what? If it’s Южно-Сахалинск then I think it should be Déliszahalinhely or Délifeketefolyóhely or something like that

    Lászlókeleti – Владивосток. Made me laugh.

  13. Nah.. still not convinced we should annex Russia to Hungary. Maybe if you throw in Mongolia and the ‘Stans too…. maybe….

  19. Honestly, this is so fun lol. I like it! Azenbirtokom is definitely my favorite translation. Lot of them doesn’t even sound weird, totally acceptable hungarian town/village/city names

  20. Kispatkó, Pirosháza, Hercegháza… Ezek akár magyar városnevek is lehetnének 😁 Köszi, hogy vetted a fáradságot lefordítani ezeket!
