Yes it’s normal to see a triton close to trees and leaves. They will settle there for the cold.
Never seen one myself. Was it close by water? There are a few species in BE and NL.
Totally normal. If you drink enough tripels you start seeing these.
That’s some kick ass camo
All salamanders in Belgium are water salamanders so there should be water nearby. They don’t move well on ground.
Never seen one in my 25 years.
You aren’t supposed to see them. They are here, but you just aren’t supposed to see them.
Vuurbuiksalamander. Zit overal. Vroeger in mijn tuin zonder water in de buurt. Beschermde diersoort
I like it
Lick it
Yes, salamander. Nice red belly.
We have a lot of those in our pond.
Take care of the guy, you wouldn’t expect it, but they get up to 20 years old.
I see these little guys quite regularly.. they come out of the greenery and come sit at the backdoor of my house, climb up the walls. Very cute!
I’ve only seen one as a kid, all shriveled up, I thought it was a dead leaf, but then it moved, so I put it in some water, let it warm up a little inside the house, and later released it in a creek with lots of frogs for friends.
We litteraly have like 100 of them (across 3-4 different species) in my pound from April to August, so yeah, totally normal !
You’re not, that’s why they’re camouflaged
I saw one in Waterloo last year!
You are not supposed to see him, thats what the camouflage is there for.
If you do see him, though, that’s alright. He’s a native here.
