“Rosa” will represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. The regional juries and the televote have chosen the winner of Festival da Canção 2026. Bandidos do Cante with “Rosa” will be the ones to succeed NAPA, the previous winners of the Portuguese music contest in 2025.

As a notable fact, out of the 10 finalists, only Bandidos do Cante and André Amaro expressed their willingness to represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in case of victory. The rest signed a letter rejecting Israel’s presence, considering it a red line that prevents their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. Therefore, their path to Vienna is now clear.

Bandidos do Cante is a group formed by Miguel Costa, Duarte Farias, Francisco Raposo, Luís Aleixo, and Francisco Pestana, bringing the essence of Cante Alentejano into a contemporary territory, blending it with pop and modern sounds.

Their music preserves the soul of the Alentejo tradition but with a fresh and accessible approach for new audiences.

The project was born after combining their voices on the single CASA, by D.A.M.A and Buba Espinho, and quickly solidified with their first hit, Amigos Coloridos, in 2024. Since then, they have performed over 80 concerts in Portugal, symbolically closing with two sold-out shows at Teatro Pax Júlia.

In January 2026, they release their first album, Bairro das Flores, a work that revisits Cante Alentejano from a modern perspective, combining tradition and contemporaneity.

The album features standout tracks such as Primavera, a single in collaboration with António Zambujo, which demonstrates the group’s ability to engage with other icons of Portuguese music and continue exploring new sounds.
