Wind power meets and beats Denmark’s total electricity demand – two days in a row

  1. My family is convinced that windmills cost more electricity to start up than they generate in a day. They believe it’s all part of a liberal plot. They’ll probably accuse you of liberal propaganda if you show them articles like this.

  2. Great, we need renewables.

One VERY important thing to point out however, is that these stats don’t say anything about how big a percentage of the *energy use* of a nation is electric.

If you use fossil for everything, wherever possible, you end up with really impressive percentages for a comparably low effort.

With that said, I haven’t checked the numbers for Denmarks energy mix. It might be great for all i know.

Just want to have an honest discussion, too much of our conversations regarding renewables are polluted by misleading information.

At the end of the day, we have to look at emissions per capita including consumption/imports, and discuss why it is like that.
