ALICJA has won the Polish pre-selection for Vienna 2026

Broadcaster TVP has revealed the artist that Poland will be sending to the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in May. On Sunday 8 March, on the morning programme Pytanie na Śniadanie on TVP 2, it was announced that ALICJA had won the ticket to Vienna, with her song Pray.

ALICJA earned the honour after scoring victory at Finał Polskich Kwalifikacji. Eight entries competed at the Polish national final, which was broadcast on the evening of Saturday 7 March, with the winner remaining a secret until the following morning. It was down to the Polish people alone what song would get to represent them on the international stage, with a 100% public vote deciding on the winner.

Poland went with Pray, and ALICJA will now get to perform her song for a global audience in Veinna! It polled almost a third of all votes received by TVP, making it a landslide victory for the singer.

ALICJA will represent Poland at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest

Pray was composed by ALICJA herself, along with Weronika Gabryelczyk and Sinclair Alan Malcolm. It will be performed in the Second Half of the First Semi-Final on Tuesday 12 May.

The song was written as a deeply personal story about an artist’s journey, faith in their dreams, and the act of praying for those dreams to come true. The song reflects the moment when readiness for change finally arrives. Symbolically, Pray closes one chapter and opens a new one in ALICJA’s life, both emotionally and musically.

All about ALICJA

ALICJA is a singer and songwriter who first rose to fame after winning The Voice of Poland. She is now regarded as one of the most distinctive voices on the Polish music scene. Her sound blends elements of r&b and soul, captivating listeners with the emotional depth and authenticity of her delivery; in her most recent releases in particular, ALICJA has been presenting lyrics rooted in her own personal experiences.

In 2024, she released her debut album nie wracam, which was promoted by the well-received singles Spokojnie panowie, the title track nie wracam, Za dużo łez, and W co ty dziś grasz. Currently, ALICJA is developing her first English-language album, marking the beginning of a new, international chapter in her career.

This is ALICJA’s second time winning a Polish Eurovision pre-selection! The singer also won Poland’s national final in 2020, with her song Empires. But ALICJA missed out on the opportunity to represent her country that year after the Eurovision Song Contest was cancelled, due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
