The president has long been known for his lengthy, often aggressive handshakes that sometimes involve squeezing and pulling the other person closer. Often described as tug-of-wars, the handshakes have been described by the New York Times as attempts to establish “dominance and control.” Trump has done it with French President Emmanuel Macron and former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and now, it’s happened to Paraguayan President Santiago Peña.
