Not surprising they’re broke. Didn’t the EU warn us that Scotland could become a third world country after Brexit?
I’m not sure if things have improved to that extent, but we’ve only been out for 15 months. Give it time.
It will be interesting to see Scottish Red lines. What services and perks cannot be touched and how much tax is acceptable to keep them.
When you spend, spend, spend without regard to the consequences, you shouldn’t be surprised. See you at the polls.
‘partly the result of factors outside Holyrood’s control, such as the pandemic, but expensive policies such as generous devolved social security benefits, had also also contributed to it’
Well, Scotland does have a range of benefits not accessible elsewhere in the UK, probably contributes to the massive shortfall.
Wanking hundreds of millions into lost cause ferries won’t have helped. It’s almost as if massively over spending on a whole pile of things to buy support at the polls eventually catches up with you
*It said Ms Forbes faced a choice between axing public services, hiking taxes, or hoping the UK Government would ride to the rescue*
Only if SNP leader Wee Jimmy Crankie goes on telly and says “Och the English bailed us out the noo”
Otherwise you’ll have to pick between free methadone and your kids eating (a tough one I’m sure)
Look at the financials&tell me it’s ok to run a counrt like that. Remember what happened to Greece
Don’t worry, i’m sure the evil English will bail them out once again.
