Last night the Berlin Staatskapelle awarded Sir Simon Rattle the title ‘Honorary Conductor of the State Chapel Berlin’ in grateful recognition of his artistically outstanding work. Theirs is ‘an artistically intensive collaboration that has grown over 18 years’.
Rattle is presently conducting Janacek’s Cunning Little Vixen.
