WASHINGTON (TNND) — Erika Kirk, the widow of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has been appointed by President Donald Trump to serve on the U.S. Air Force Academy Board of Visitors.

Kirk, who took over as CEO and board chair of Turning Point USA after her husband’s death, is listed among the five appointed by the president on the academy’s website.

“The Board inquires into the morale, discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, academic methods and other matters relating to the Academy which the Board decides to consider,” according to the site.

Kirk had been tapped by Trump in March 2025 to serve on the board before he was assassinated on Sept. 10 at Utah Valley University.

“Erika is the right person to fill Charlie’s place on the board and continue his work of inspiring the next generation of service members and advancing the academy,” Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, the board’s chair told Fox News Digital.

Pfluger said after Charlie Kirk’s death that he was “a passionate champion for our Academy, its timeless mission and the extraordinary Cadets who have dedicated their lives to service before self,” a statement read.
