This will drive people towards cork and limerick airports.
I have a mate of mine visiting next week and I keep trying to convince him to get there early, he’s convinced 3 hrs will be enough – I doubt it.
We had friends over from UK this weekend who were travelling back early this morning. They had no bags to check just walk on stuff. They got there 3.5 hours before the flight and missed it. One with a disability pass was left waiting 2.5 hours outside the airport and almost 2.5 hours inside despite showing pass etc….. Absolute disgrace. Apparently its carnage there today. Why would anyone want to visit when met with this. Ridiculous at this stage and an embarrassment to the country that this is an international airport 🙄
Where are you of to, somewhere nice?
Gosh, lucky covid is gone
Oh God. I’m supposed to fly back to Canada tomorrow. I’d almost cancel.
Insane that they started making checked bags free and charging for carry ons. That policy requires a lot more check-in staff and baggage handlers, which clearly they didn’t hire. This is one (inefficient) consequence of greed.
Would recommend check out
Not surprised it’s so busy when half of Reddit seems to be there today.
We flew out from Dublin to Nice at noon last Wednesday and went through with no issues. Bag check in took about 10 mins and security about 50. Is this mayhem only for flights around weekends?
This looks like T1, what is T2 looking like, i have relatives flying out next week to the USA with Aer Lingus, they are planning on being there a good 5 hours before the flight, its crazy that the Irish Government haven’t gotten involved in this, clearly something has broken down at Dublin Airport.
The country is falling apart at the seams
I’m flying on Friday but I don’t have check in. Could I go through the security in T2 and then move to T1?
I’d have an absolute hernia if I was there. God love them
Scareport.
If you check in online you still have to do this queue if you have a bag to drop off right?
There should be a push to get some more traffic through cork and Shannon too, those airports are operating very smoothly and could do with the extra traffic . I’m sure alot of people will think twice on using Dublin after experiences like these.
We have a two year old and couldnt spend this long in queues the stress levels would be massive , between naps , nappy changes , food , water it’s all a nightmare.
Ridiculous, come on DAA how long do you guys nees to sort this out
Why are so many people travelling now?if it’s like this, God help us when people start travelling for summer holidays in July/August.
Someone seriously need to be hauled in front of the government to explain how this shit is happening. They knew this was coming, 5 months ago!!
Do you still have to wait in all this even if you have checked in and carry on luggage only ?? As in you don’t have to check in a bag ?
I despair at the incompetence of the DAA, they are an embarrassment.
Are the queues at Shannon similar?
If not, it seems like the drive might almost be worth it.
(I’m American, so a drive around ~3 hours is no big deal)
Dont mean to be a conspiracy head, but do they WANT another lock down?
It’s unacceptable and an embarrassment to this country you’d think they’d fix this asap
We were lucky to book the quick pass for security yesterday wasnt to bad once you got into the airport building itself
