Lisbon and Porto are in the top 10 most sought-after cities for gastronomic experiences. Italy leads the ranking, with six cities in the classification. Countries such as the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Spain, France and Greece complete the ranking.

According to Publituris, gastronomy is no longer a complement to travel, but one of the favourite criteria for visitors. The study by TUI Musement, in partnership with Appinio, shows that 56% of travellers are interested or very interested in including culinary activities during their holidays.

To demonstrate visitors’ interest in gastronomic experiences, 71% of tourists book them in advance, while 60% make reservations for the evening or at sunset.

The study reveals that visitors opt for experiences lasting 2 to 4 hours, with a preference for tastings that showcase local cuisine.

Porto and Lisbon are in ninth and third place, respectively, among the most sought-after European cities for gastronomic experiences.
