Some Los Angeles Dodgers fans are rejoicing as the team won’t visit the White House to celebrate their 2025 World Series title during the road trip to Washington, D.C., next month.

That trip to face the Washington Nationals from April 3 to 5 is the only visit to the nation’s capital this season, but they won’t be stopping to visit President Donald Trump, the Orange County Register‘s Bill Plunkett reports.

That visit is expected to take place later in 2026, though Plunkett noted on social media that “scheduling the traditional visit could be challenging this time around.”

How Are Dodgers Fans Reacting to the News?

Many Dodgers fans seemed happy that the team wouldn’t be visiting with President Donald Trump next month.

The Boys in Blue visited Trump after the 2024 World Series, but since then, the already polarizing president enacted immigration raids in Southern California.

The chaotic crackdown led many fans to push the team to skip the visit entirely.

“I love you Dodgers!! Don’t go to the WH!!” wrote @teresakelly76.

“Pleeeeeeeeease don’t do it ?? As a lifelong HARDCORE, Bleed Blue ? Dodger faithful i beg you, please don’t go. Don’t break our hearts…,” wrote @i_a_luna.

“Come on Dodgers don’t do it. You had the victory parade that’s all you need,” said @blazelandusa.

Others intimated that this is just one step of a gradual plan to announce they’re not going to attend the White House ceremony at all.

@Focusfu.la said the announcement of no visit in April is “one step closer to the right decision” of skipping the trip entirely.

“They are going to get super busy with the schedule later. And won’t be able to go ??,” noted @akebo808.

“It’s not too late to do the right thing,” Instagram user @bloodinthewater added.

It’s possible that, if and when the White House visit is rescheduled, it will be done at a time during which those who don’t want to go will be able to skip it.

Plunkett identified an off day for the team, Thursday, July 23, as the most likely time for the Boys in Blue to visit.

Some, like manager Dave Roberts, said they will be in attendance whenever the Dodgers make that trip.

“I was raised — by a man who served our country for 30 years — to respect the highest office in our country. For me, it doesn’t matter who is in the office, I’m going to go to the White House. I’ve never tried to be political,” Roberts told the Los Angeles Times’ Bill Shaikin at DodgerFest. “For me, I am going to continue to try to do what tradition says and not try to make political statements, because I am not a politician.”
