FOOD giant Iceland has provided Causeway Coast and Glens Council with a legal guarantee to retain a store in Coleraine town centre for at least five years.

The agreement was demanded as a condition of planning approval for a warehouse-style outlet at the Riverside Centre.

It’s understood a deal for a five year pledge was “sealed” by councillors last Tuesday.

The request was prompted by a report from regeneration experts on the major food retailers’ proposed move into the Riverside out-of-town shopping park
